Since we have made both of our PowerPoints, we have started filming our film opening, and we started filming the shots where our main character is walking through the corridors of school, where there aren't many background characters, so we just got some of our friends that were free to do various things in the background to make the school look more populated, and we have started filming some of the shots where our main character walks across Priory Park, with some of the first person shots and scenic shots. We plan to shoot the classroom scene during a lesson when all the required people are free, so that the school does not look empty, and so that it looks as if it were in an actual classroom.
We were hoping to film during lunch time and break time so that the school looks busy, but we have mainly done our filming in lessons, and have changed it so that it is after an after school club, but there are still a few people around. We still need to film some of the shots with our main character walking across priory park, and the classroom scene, although we may not include a classroom scene in the finished film.

Teen angst film opening, storyboard
For our film opening, we needed a storyboard, as all films do. Initially, I created a storyboard on Publisher, printed it out, and drew a rough approximation of what our storyboard would finally be, before printing out another copy, and letting Josh draw the actual thing, as he has much better drawing skills that I do. We then photographer the Storyboard, and were able to get it back on the computer.

Teen angst film opening, Shooting Schedule
For filming our film opening, we initially planned to film at lunch time, or as school finished, so that there would be a lot of people around, but later realised that it was a lot easier to film where there weren't many people around, so we changed it so that our character was coming out of a 'detention'.
We did however, rope in a few of our friends, to do various background tasks/actions, to make it look like there were still some people in the school. This meant that we were mainly filming during our Media Studies lessons, or when we had free periods.

Teen angst film opening, Script
For our film opening, we obviously needed a script, and Josh went about writing ours, with input from Myself and Jack.

The script starts of in the classroom, although we have since removed this scene, and the rest of the script is narration, which will be played over our footage. Josh, who is playing Max (our main character) was the person who will be narrating as he walks through the school. To record the narration, we went to the Music Tech department and used their recording studio, as I took Music at GCSE, and briefly took Music tech at A level, which is how I knew they had a recording studio. Although we could've just recorded his voice normally, I knew that the audio quality would be much better if we used the recording studio, and there wouldn't be any background noise.

Teen angst film opening, Cast
For the cast of our film opening, we initially intended to have a female main character, but switched to a male main character as our original main character wasn't free to film too often and it was just easier to film with our male main character. We have been casting any friends that have been around when we were filming as background characters to make the school seem less empty, and we have 'recruited' other people to be in our film, but we haven't filmed a lot of those parts yet. We have hanged our minds about some other cast members as well. For the teacher in the classroom scene at the start, we were going to cast one teacher, but he wasn't available to film when we were, so we had to change to a different teacher.
Teen angst film opeing, Risk assesment.
For our film opening, we were shooting in two different places, Longsands Academy and priory park, so we needed two risk assessments.

The Red risk assessment is for while in Longsands, and includes how to avoid falling down stairs, slipping and walking into students, and the green risk assessment is for while in Priory park, and includes how to avoid slipping over. tripping on uneven ground, and being attacked by a dog.

Teen angst film opening, Props and Costumes
For our film opening, we originally wanted fairly generic things, with out main character and their friend wearing what they would usually wear to sixth form and we wanted to have our 'bully' and their friends wearing somewhat expensive looking clothing. As for props, we were going to use most of our props for the classroom scene, at the start of the film opening, but we decided, for the draft at least, that we weren't going to include the classroom scene, as we weren't able to get everyone together when needed.

Teen angst film opening, Logo
The logo of our film, Lonely Life of a Teenager, Jak designed our logo, and we had a small amount of deliberation about the font that was going to be used, but in the end we decided on one we liked.
We also changed our 'company' logo a few times. We started off with what looked like a wolf howling in a snow globe,
Then we removed the bottom of the logo,
Then using PowerPoint animations as a basic animation tool, I made on that 'moved'
It started out with a gif of a wolf howling, the isolated the wolfs' head, then the moon faded into the background, and the company name appeared.
The reasoning behind our logo is that the wolf is 'alone' as is our main character, who is portrayed as lonely, with not many friends.

Teen angst film opening, USP
The USP (Unique Selling Point) of our teen angst film is that it confronts issues the a socially anxious teenager would confront. It shows how lonely some people can be, compared to how popular fairly similar people can be. If this were to be a full film, our main character would confront various situations to do with their social anxiety, and they would have to overcome them.
Teen angst film opening
For our Teen angst film opening, we got into groups and started planning. I was in a group with Josh and Jak, and we started planning a film opening about a teenager with social anxiety. We worked together over a few weeks to make a PowerPoint, and then presented it to everyone else on our course.
Here is the video of our presentation:
After we made our presentation, we made a second presentation with details about further aspects of planning, such as: cast, costumes, risk assessments.

Preliminary task (The invitation)
Preliminary Task
What we did:
In this task, we split off into groups, and in these groups, we went off to different locations to film a short scene. In our scene, we filmed Josh walking away from a classroom, remembering something, walking back into the classroom, and talking to Jak about a party at his house at the weekend. Jak asks when the party is, and Josh replies, with Jak closing the conversation and the screen fades to black. In editing, we learned how to use Adobe Premier pro, and about different editing techniques that can be used. My role in this task was mainly camera man, although I had a small role at the start of the film, where I walk past the end of the corridor to make it look like it is a somewhat busy environment, not just an area set up for filming.
What we learned:
In this task, we learned about different camera angles that are used when filming, and how they are filmed, we learned about how scenes have to be filmed multiple times so that there is a choice for the editors to choose from, and if someone makes a mistake that isn't noticed when filming, then there is a second choice to use as a backup.
Shot Reverse Shot, 180 Degree rule, match on action:
In this task, we learned how to use Shot reverse shot, which is when there is a conversation between two or more characters, and when a character is speaking, they are the main thing in shot, as the camera is over another characters shoulder, with that character in the foreground. We also learned how to use the 180 degree rule, which is when there is an invisible line along the ground, and when you are filming Shot reverse shot, you shot not go over this line when filming the other characters speech. Match on action is when the camera changes form a shot where there are a lot of things happening, and then is goes to a shot where there is only one thing happening, and so that is the main focus of the shot, e.g. when a door is opened, there is a close up of the persons hand on a door handle.

Easy A opening scene
there is a non diegetic style of music, and the film title comes up on screen in a different style and font to the rest of the opening credits. the music and editing show that the style of the film is a comedy and a teen angst, but unlike Juno, the editing of this opening scene is a lot slower paced.
Juno Opening scene
Juno has a cartoonish style for its opening scene, filled with bright colours, catchy, upbeat music. It includes a teenager walking around a town, going along streets, through parks, and shops, and this reflects the chaotic lifestyle of a teenager. The editing reflects teenage life as well, and reflect that the film has a comedic style, and this is also reflected in the music and general cartoon style of the opening credits. the opening sequence shows Juno wearing stereotypical teenager clothing, and this helps inform the audience that the genre is also teen angst.
